Lucca

Lucca has one of the most beautiful example of modern wall system still intact, with a wild road running along the top of the walls. Lucca will surprise you with its lovely ambience and you will always find something special out walking through the streets of this city. The exclusive ancient palaces give to Lucca a very chic and refined style in line with the sober lifestyle of its inhabitants. The squares being not present in a large number, it makes you surprised to find a space carved out in the maze of streets. A tradition says that there are a hundred churches in the city. The ambience of Lucca is unequalled and its strong and special identity made Lucca able to keep free and independent for the largest part of its history before Italy became a nation.
